Cooperate, do not compete.
Advisers, agencies and even other writers hold clients the desk will never meet. The aim is shared capacity and referred work, so the Client is served well and nobody competes for the same brief.
Six kinds of firm, one shared client.
The desk covers a defined range. Anything outside it, or anything the partner does better, goes where it is done best.
A client needs a plan, a financial report or a lender pack that the practice does not write.
Refer the brief or co-deliver: the practice reviews and issues, Zatra and NEMBO write and produce.
A client needs letters, policies and procedures to match the company's legal set.
Hand over the drafting and design. The lawyer keeps the legal advice.
More clients than hours, and deadlines that cannot move.
Overflow desk: the consultant keeps the client and the judgment, Zatra and NEMBO carry the production.
A client needs a research-backed document, or a book, the agency does not research.
Specialist handover both ways: research and content from Zatra, finishing and print from the agency where the client prefers it.
A brief that sits outside the writer's sector or capacity.
Pass the part that does not fit. The client stays with the writer, and the work is shared and not fought over.
Applicants arrive with files that are not ready.
Point applicants to the desk. The applicant owns the brief, and the lender reads a file built for its tests.
How the work is shared.
Refer
The partner passes the brief and keeps the relationship. The Client is told who is doing what.
Co-deliver
The partner issues the work under the partner's name or both names, as agreed in writing.
Overflow
The partner sends the work that does not fit the week. Dates are quoted and kept.
Hand over
Work outside the desk's range goes to the partner who does it best, and the Client is told.
Agreed before the first brief.
| Question | Position |
|---|---|
| Who owns the client? | The partner who brought the client, unless the client chooses otherwise. |
| Whose name is on the work? | Named or white-label, agreed in writing before work starts. |
| How are dates kept? | The date in the quote is the commitment, and the quote states the inputs it depends on. |
| What about the client's data? | Each client's facts stay with that client's file and are never reused for another. |
| What are the commercial terms? | Agreed in writing with each partner before the first brief. |
Open the conversation, agree the terms.
A reply sets out how the cooperation would run. Nothing is signed through this form.
