What are the SME loan requirements at NMB, CRDB and NBC?
As read on 17 October 2026, NMB and CRDB publish a TZS 50,000,000 floor and six shared eligibility points: age, three years' experience, steady cash flow, premises, a licence and an account. CRDB's English and Swahili pages print different ceilings and tenors. NBC's SME page publishes no terms. None publishes a checklist, rate or fee.

Three banks publish SME lending pages, and each publishes a different share of what a borrower needs before applying. The pages were read on 17 October 2026. This note records what each states and what it leaves out, and infers nothing beyond the text. The CRDB SME Bidii file is covered in depth in a separate note on this desk.
What do the NMB, CRDB and NBC SME pages publish?
NMB and CRDB each publish a loan band, a tenor and a list of eligibility points, while NBC's SME page lists product names only. CRDB's English and Swahili SME Bidii pages print different bands and tenors, so the branch confirms which applies. None of the three publishes a document checklist, an interest rate figure or a fee schedule on the page read 1358.

NMB's MSE Loans page covers smaller borrowers: TZS 500,000 to TZS 30,000,000, repayment up to 24 months and six months' experience in the same business 2. NBC's Business Finance page names a sector focus of telecommunications, media and technology, natural resources, and power and utilities, with no terms 6.
What is the common core of the requirements?
The common core is six points that NMB and CRDB both publish: age 18 or over, three years in the same or a similar business, steady cash flow, a business premise, a licence or permit, and an account with the bank 13.
- Common to NMB and CRDB: the six points above.
- NMB only: a location served by an NMB branch, a proper recording system with evidence of profitable operation, and a good reputation in the community 1.
- Neither page: a document list, a collateral rule, a rate figure or a fee.

Note: the recording system and profit evidence on the NMB page are counted as one point. A count of published points is not a measure of a bank's standards. This is not an offer or a guarantee.
A file built to the six-point core serves both banks. The three NMB additions are met by financial records and profit evidence, which statements and a 60-month model supply.
What does each page leave unsaid?
Each page leaves out the items that decide an application. NMB's page omits documents, fees and collateral, and links a tariff guide it does not reproduce 1. CRDB's SME Bidii page omits the same three 3, while its general SME page names accepted guarantees: residential, commercial or industrial buildings, liquid assets such as cash deposits, and bank guarantees from leading banks, and states no amounts, tenors or documents 4. NBC's SME page lists a term loan, an overdraft and trade finance with no amount, tenor or eligibility point 5.

How should one file be assembled for several banks?
- Build to the common core. Place one document behind each of the six shared points.
- Add the NMB points. Include the recording system, profit evidence and a location statement.
- Ask each branch in writing. Request the document list, the collateral rule and the fee schedule, none of which the pages publish.
- Carry the model. Attach the 60-month model with a downside case and debt service cover in both.
What the NEMBO desk prepares
The NEMBO plan desk, authored and checked by Zatra Consultants Limited, prepares the 60-month model with a Base, Downside and Upside switch, a management page with dated roles, an approvals page and the fourteen-page lender summary, ordered to the six published points. Documents are scoped and quoted in writing, and the quote states the delivery date. The desk prepares the file and does not decide or guarantee any bank's decision.
One loan file built to the common core
The desk prepares the 60-month model with downside cover, the management page and the evidence behind each published point, in one lender-ready file.

Frequently asked questions
Which bank publishes the most SME requirements?
On the pages read on 17 October 2026, NMB lists nine eligibility points, CRDB six and NBC's SME page none. The count measures publication, not strictness. Each bank's credit decision rests on its own assessment, and the branch states its own list.
Do NMB, CRDB or NBC publish a document checklist?
No. The NMB SME Loans page, the CRDB SME Bidii page and the NBC SME page publish no checklist. NMB links a forms section and a tariff guide. The borrower asks the branch for the document list in writing before preparing the file.
What is the minimum SME loan at NMB and CRDB?
Both pages publish a floor of TZS 50,000,000. A smaller request is raised with the branch. NMB's MSE Loans page covers TZS 500,000 to TZS 30,000,000 with repayment up to 24 months, and states six months' experience.
Is collateral required for an SME loan at these banks?
The SME pages of NMB and CRDB Bidii state no collateral rule. CRDB's general SME page names accepted guarantees, including buildings, cash deposits and bank guarantees from leading banks. The branch confirms the security required for the facility sought.
Do the banks publish their SME interest rates?
No. The pages describe rates as competitive, and NMB's MSE page as low and competitive, without a figure. NMB links a tariff guide. The rate and fees for an application are obtained from the bank in writing.
Does NBC publish SME loan terms?
The NBC SME page lists a term loan, an overdraft and trade finance and states no amount, tenor or eligibility point. Its Business Finance page names a sector focus. NBC's business banking team states the terms for a request.
Does any of these pages require a business plan?
None names a business plan. NMB asks for a proper recording system and evidence of profitable operation, and both NMB and CRDB ask for steady cash flow. A 60-month model with a downside case is how that cash flow is evidenced.
